I'm not sure I'd give Steve, as a person, 5 stars, but the book and story are fascinating. It's as much a lesson in what to do as in what not to do and full of interesting tales of building products, companies, Silicon Valley, philosophy, Apple, Pixar, and more.
I think Steve gets - and gives himself - a little too much credit. I struggle when I hear him compared to Da Vinci or Edison. So many of the ideas were small evolutions, better execution of existing concepts, developed by employees, or outright stolen from others.
That said, Jobs' uncomprising vision and intuitive sense for how to build products people want - even crave - cannot be denied. His fundamental view of making money to enable building great products, and not the other way around, is spot on.
